Join us for a briefing on our strategy to get Labor MPs championing climate action in Victoria and skills-share session on persuasive conversations.
WHAT’S AT STAKE:
We are facing a climate crisis. Australia's emissions are rising due to the Federal Coalition's failure to act on climate. And this failure leaves Victorian communities exposed to intensifying impacts such as heatwaves, droughts, bushfires, extreme weather, and rising sea levels.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
Victoria has an opportunity to put the country back on track. For the first time, the Andrews government is about to set an Emissions Reduction Target for 2025.
Time is short. We need to meet with as many Labor MPs as possible in coming months to encourage them to support science-based targets that keep warming below 1.5°C.
WHY THE EMISSIONS REDUCTION TARGETS ARE IMPORTANT:
It's a moment ramp up Victoria's efforts to tackle the climate crisis. It's a moment to steer the state towards a cleaner, fairer, and more sustainable economy.
Bold and ambitious emissions cuts will continue Victoria's nation-leading rollout of renewables and set the scene for the country's first offshore wind farm, the Star of the South. It will require greater investment in Public Transport and greater protection for our carbon-dense native forests.
We'd love to have you online for our webinar. No prior knowledge or experience necessary. Just a passion for community action on climate.
This event will take place on the lands of the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nations. We acknowledge this land was stolen, and that sovereignty was never ceded.
