HOW IS CLIMATE CHANGE IMPACTING THE BASS COAST AND WHAT CAN WE DO ABOUT IT?
Friends of the Earth's Act on Climate collective and Bass Coast Climate Action Network are pleased to host this special World Environment Day event.
With dramatic coastal erosion in Inverloch and extreme weather in Cape Paterson making headlines, it's time to understand how the climate crisis is impacting the Bass Coast.
Guest speakers Dr Penny Whetton (honorary CSIRO felllow and IPCC author), Dr Ruth Reef (Monash University's Coastal Research Group), and Aileen Vening (Bass Coast resident and citizen scientist) will outline impacts now occurring as well as those in store if governments fail to rein in emissions.
Attendees will also hear about how to ensure governments are bold and ambitious when it comes to tackling the climate crisis.
More speakers to be announced soon...
